Comment from Jeff Ivey
Welcome to the latest Haes Systems newsletter. We hope you are enjoying a fruitful beginning to the New Year and challenging the current climate – economically and weather-wise.

At Haes Systems we are particularly optimistic due to the fantastic news that we have become BAFE accredited. This accreditation will no doubt open new and exciting doors for our company and in turn the Partners we work with. There are many changes still occurring internally at Haes Systems. We have had a big move around and have introduced some more new faces. One of those new members of staff is Keran, who joined our sales desk recently, so no doubt you will be talking to her at some point. Welcome Keran.

Also in this newsletter we talk to Peter Ryder, one of our inbound sales desk advisors about his role and how he thinks things are changing at Haes Systems.

Fusion News
Since the launch of Haes Systems’ Fusion control panel – the only panel to combine analogue addressable with conventional technologies, we are now delighted to launch to all our customers a fantastic new sales tool, ‘The Configurator’ – more about that in this newsletter.

Finally, I must draw your attention to some very sad news. Doug Collins, who was with Haes Systems for 15 years and was highly regarded by many of you reading this, passed away on Christmas day. Doug was a very popular employee, who will be greatly missed.

Introducing… the Configurator
Following the launch of the Fusion control panel, Haes Systems understood that a new product that is based on a number of different components will initially seem difficult to configure and price. In order to make it a bit simpler for you, Haes Systems are introducing a sales tool that does all the hard work for you when ordering Fusion control panels. The Sales Configurator is so helpful and easy to use, the Haes Systems in house sales team are using it too.

Please visit www.haes-systems.co.uk and take a look. We really hope you find it useful.
Employee Profile
Peter Ryder works on the inbound sales desk at Haes Systems

1. How long have you worked at Haes Systems?
I am from Manchester originally but I have lived and worked in the Greater London region for 25 years. I have been working at Haes Systems for five years.

Prior to working at Haes Systems and the fire protection industry, I worked in the electronic and medical industries in a variety of roles, including sales, purchasing and operations.

2. What does your job entail?
I work on the inbound sales desk taking orders, queries and requests from clients on a variety of products and specifications. Also, I work with the field based sales managers taking customer orders on their behalf or passing on more technical queries or system requirements to them.

An essential part of our job is understanding the importance of good customer service. Our team of four, I believe, are very conscientious in their work and ensure our customers receive a friendly, confident and efficient service along with the product or service they require. Over the years, I think Haes Systems has been able to build a reputation for high quality service, and this is something we can be proud of.

3. How has your job changed over your time at Haes Systems?
Throughout my time at Haes Systems my product knowledge has improved and I have gained experience of our regular customers’ requirements, helping to understand and anticipate their needs. The job is quite varied and there is a lot more to it than simply taking orders. The role has generally become a lot busier. We are processing more orders, and there are more specialist, technical enquiries from customers that require Haes’ expertise, so a certain amount of plate spinning is involved, but I enjoy the challenge.

Increasingly, our department integrates with all the other areas of the business. Dependent on what our customer requires, we are often liaising with manufacturing and development, warehousing, accounts, servicing, technical support and the field based sales team.

As a small company, we have the advantage that we can be flexible, implement things quickly, communicate across departments easily and deliver for our customers. We are a close knit team and the friendly atmosphere in the office means we work very well together which ultimately benefits the customer. Although the nature of my job hasn’t changed a lot, it has grown significantly and with the change in management it is a relaxed environment but with a ‘can do’ culture.

4. What do you see for the future of the fire protection industry?
With the continuing advancements in the fire protection industry, more regulations are being introduced and generally this is giving the industry a higher profile, making compliance an important part of our customers’ businesses. It is a great opportunity for Haes Systems, as we increased our offerings to include fire risk assessments.

Haes Systems future in the addressable market lies with the Fusion control panel, which has received considerable interest from customers, old and new. This soon to be approved panel is a great product for customers, offering them the opportunity to install now with a conventional set up and having the flexibility to transcend to an analogue addressable product when buildings are updated, extended or altered.

5. What do you like about working at Haes Systems?
I do enjoy working at Haes Systems. The job is demanding as in any sales environment with various deadlines etc., but I relish the challenge and a lot of satisfaction comes from meeting or exceeding customer expectation, to which I think we all respond. We want to maintain Haes Systems good reputation for customer service and be confident in our product offering.

6. What are your Hobbies?
I like all sport, particularly football. I am a keen Manchester United supporter, which doesn’t go unnoticed when you are working in the South, and I’m very much looking forward to the World Cup this year. Other than that, I enjoy music, films, theatre and walking my dogs.

7. What is your Pet hate?
Rudeness and bullying, there is no need for it, and I am happy to say it is not something we have to endure here at Haes!
